1 Pack of Spaghetti Noodles
1 pack of plant based grounds (I used gardien)
1/2 cup of Haitian marinade ( Blend of Onions , Garlic, Hot and Sweet peppers , and herbs of choice) *optional*
(Sofrito is a great alternative)
1 Table spoon Vegan butter
2 Table spoons Vegan Mayo
2 Mixed Bell Peppers (Chopped)
1 Onion (Chopped)
1 Jar (25 oz) Tomato Sauce of choice or DIY Tomato Sauce
1 tablespoon Vegan Worcestershire Sauce
Italian seasoning or Fresh Oregano
1 Teaspoon Oil
1) Boil and cook spaghetti noodles for about 8-10 minutes. Add a few drops of oil to the pot to keep the noodles from sticking and salt for flavor.
2) While your noodles cook, use this time to chop onions and peppers as desired. Set aside.
3)Heat a skillet with oil and add plant based grounds. Add the Haitian marinade and allow the grounds to cook until brown. Add the chopped onions, bell peppers, salt , pepper , and Italian seasoning or oregano.
4) Add vegan butter, vegan Worcestershire sauce, and tomato sauce, and season to taste.
5)Drain noodles and add them to the pot of grounds and veggies while still cooking on low heat.
6) Add mayo for extra creaminess. *optional*
This is very popular in majority of Haitian marinades and pasta dishes for a nice creamy outcome!
